Rowland NC House

 

C.P.R.S.  conducted an Pre-Investigation of a home in Rowland NC on Nov. 5th 2006. Here is the case summary.

C.P.R.S. was contacted by residence of a farmhouse in Rowland. The privacy of the family is being respected so the exact location and any other information and or pictures of the family will be hidden. The history of the residents goes back to the 1910's and has been handed down to the same family still today. Dont have a record of any deaths occuring at the house but it was used often as a "setting up" for family members that had died in the front room. Some indian artifacts have said to have been found on the property.

Activity is said to go back years as the current residence remembers his father talking about seeing shadows. Current activity is thought to revolve around the young child in the home. He has been observed playing a talking to people that are not there. He has called the name of his deceased grandfather although he never met him. He has picked the grandfather out of pictures when ask. The child refuses to go into the front room after dark even with the lights on. The front room is not used at this time.

Last activity was about 2 days ago with a door slaming on its on. The female in the house has a had her name called within the past two months. She was also locked out of the house recently but the lock could only be locked from the inside. A toy the child was playing with came on without being plugged into an outlet.

The Founder and Case manager arrived at the location about 2:00pm on the day of the pre-investigation. Case worker then proceeds to get some history and recent activity of the home. I walk around the house to get a feel for it and to get a layout of the home. The general temp in the home was a average 64 degrees. The front room was 48 degrees but has no heat in same. The outside temp on the day was around 58.

I start with some pics in a childs room and get the feeling that I dont belong there but it wasnt nothing negative or threating. The front room was set up with audio and video. Although there is no heat in the room it feels much colder than even the outside temp. EMF meter was used throughout the house with no results. Temperature readings were within normal range elsewhere in the house. Around 150 digitial pics were taken inside and outside the house.

The pre-investigation lasted about one hour and 20 mins total. We were granted full access to the home and areas outside.

All of the evidence that was collected was reviewed some of it twice to determine what evidence may have been collected. This includes audio,video and digitial pics. Here is a summary of what was founded.

Audio-- Inconclusive- We believe we have one male voice that may be an evp but there was another male in the room so we cant rule out possible tainted audio.

Pictures--Inconclusive- A pic of the front room near the chair can possibly be an orb. It is consist with the color blue that is often seen in true orb pics. Another pic of a orb on the wall is inconclusive as it is brighter than normal dust or other airborne particles it doesnt have the true brightness or the motion that I like to see in a orb pic. Another pic taken outside behind me after walking out of the residence is also too unkown to be considered. This could be a refection of the sun although rare I think at that angle because the sun was low and behind the camera.

Video-- This evidence is the hardest to explain. I was standing about 10 feet from the wall and was videoing the wall toward a bedroom while I was asking the owner about seeing anything out the corner of his eyes while he was home. After reviewing the video I noticed several balls of light appear to come in and out of the wall. This occured for about 10 seconds and was gone. Nothing was going on in the house at that time that would explain this. I remember the position of everyone in the house well at that point on the video because it was just a few mins before we were to leave.

Conclusion:

Although most of the evidence is inconclusive and cant be labeled creditable, the video I think is close. We havent been able to rule it out. Keep in mind that this was a pre-investigation at 2 in the afternoon with the family freely moving around the house with us. As founder of the group I feel this house does warrant a full investigation at night in a more controlled enviroment with other team members to assist in evidence collection. The family was very receptive to us and feel confortable with the activity. I will be contacting them for a full investigation request in the near future.

Rowland House Final Report

The Investigation was conducted on December 2 2006 at 7 to 9 pm with all team members being present. The full history of the home is not known but the house has been in the same family for atleast the past three generations. Markings in the outside shed date to 1913 and the house itself was brought together by horse and buggy. Certain parts of the house seem older than others. Still unknown if any tragic incidents or deaths occured in the home. Family advises no major activity since the pre-investigation but the child still talks and plays with "Bobby".

Eight team members split into three groups at the residence. Angie, Don, & Jessica are assigned the front room first while David, Elsa, Stephaine, are in the middle room. Kenny and Trey's assignment is to scope out the outside area of the property. All four family members are present during this investigation. Equipment that was used during this investigation was video, audio, cameras, night vision, & emf meter.

Evidence was collected in different rooms by different investigators. I will start with one area at a time and list what occured there during the time we were there and what was found later on audio/video etc.

Front Room

Some members had a feeling of something being present. The door opened twice while Kenny and Trey were present and red light was seen under the door, like someone kept walking by. A knock was heard at the door by Angie and Jessica. No impressive photos were taken in this room. However an orb in motion was caught on video in this room twice. One taken by Stephanie in darkness, with no normal explanation to its cause. The other is when the child is in the room in the dark and an orb comes out of the chair, and goes up, and disappears again, which can"t be explained by normal means. Second Room

No one had any major feelings in the second room and no video or photo evidence was documented in this room. However I did get serveral evp's in the room that were whispers and hard to determine them. One very good evp was captured in the room while Elsa, Stephanie and myself were in the room.

Living Room

Serveral orbs in motion were captured in the living room. The best one being around the child when he was standing near the entrance to the kitchen. You can clearly see and orb go by him and turn around and go back. On the video you can hear a women's voice at that exact time and I feel it was not the voice of anyone in the room. Still really unknown what the voice is saying, but is consistent with the same female voice heard in other parts of the home.

Outside the residence

No evidence was captured in any area outside of the residence. Kenny and Trey used night vision equipment, to try and determine if any activity may be occuring there but was unsucessful.

Conclusion

A meeting was conducted by all the members that were present on December 10 2006 to go over all evidence from this investigation and to get a general consenses from the team, as to any paranormal activity occuring in the home. It is the opinion of C.P.R.S. which includes 8 experienced paranormal investigators that it is probable or likely that some paranormal activity seems to be occuring at this location. Some of the evidence suggested that the team was not really wanted their which is not unusual. But too we feel that the activity occuring is totally benign to the family and that they have nothing to fear from our findings. With that said overall I would rate this as above average paranormal activity given the circumstances and amount of evidence collected in a short period of time.

Sometimes a family wants to know who is in the house and why and sometimes feel void when there questions go unanwsered. We can only speculate and in no way is that scientific. We can only give our personnel opinions. We feel that there MAYBE two spirits in the home, and probably family, one male and one female. We base this on evidence found. How they are there and why is out of the scope of the investigation for us to determine. We must keep in mind that alot of the paranormal is unknown and no one has all the answers. Thats why we are continuing in this field. I recommend a follow up investigation in a few months time at this location.
